It would be great if such matches could somehow be played as Curtain Raisers to the first team games, thus allowing out-of-towners the opportunity of watching our stars of the future.

First time I’ve seen the academy this year.

We were done by the injuries, lost both starting props. Some really concerning looking injuries in there too.

The main difference was the size difference. Wire’s pack was massive. We couldn’t handle them.

For the amount they spend and the resources they have a valuable to them they weren’t anything special though.

Dugdale and Davies proabbly our best players.

At 16 - 14 with about 10 minutes or less to go. Widnes were down to the 13 men on the field. no subs available, and Warrington were able to capitalize and scored 3 tries with 2 conversions before the Referee blew the final whistle.

Widnes scorers :- Tilleke, Baker and Davies with two goals from Else.

Unfortunately, this is a consequence of having so many academy players on 1st team duty also.

Was told that they were out on their feet by the end
